Wyma Works August 2023

August has been a busy month in our New Zealand factory with a lot of equipment heading out of the door. Across the month the team packed and dispatched over 10 tonnes of product through sea and air freight to customers all over the world.

As part of our commitment to producing quality solutions, we fully assemble to test our equipment before we disassemble and ship to our customers. In August, our highlight was a 15 tonne/hour Lift Roller Sizer for a customer in Canada.

We are constantly looking for innovative ways to improve our manufacturing process, part of this has been integrating robotic solutions into our operations. Our new Lorch robotic welder has been installed and is learning how to weld a wide range of parts, currently we are testing it on high load-bearing feet which are used on equipment such as our Wet Hopper. This exciting piece of technology allows us to improve the quality and accuracy of our welding, as well as greatly reduce welding time. Allowing for our welding team to focus on more complex welding tasks that requires lower repetition and more focus.

Our engineers have been working hard on developing a bespoke shaker deck for pistachio waste removal. This piece of equipment is a Wyma first and takes a step further than regular shaker decks due to the unique movement of the produce across the deck, which results in a high level of waste removal.

Demand for our Vege Polisher V2B remains high, in August we manufactured around three polishers per week in our New Zealand facility.
