Mechanical Design Engineer (Senior or Intermediate)
Wyma Engineering design, manufacture, distribute and service post-harvest vegetable handling equipment and solutions worldwide. An opportunity has opened up for a Mechanical Design Engineer to work within the Engineering department. We are looking for the right person to complement our team, and we are keen to hear from both Senior and Intermediate Design Engineers. While the role will involve day to day mechanical design of Wyma equipment, there will also be an opportunity to carryout product development, standardisation and R&D work.
In order to be considered you will need the following:
- NZCE or BE qualification required
- Mechanical design experience
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes and systems
- A practical background and common-sense approach to design
- Hands-on attitude to problem solving
- Familiar with 3D modelling software
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Understanding of control systems an advantage, but not essential
- Project engineering experience an advantage, but not essential

Stainless Steel and Mild Steel Fabricators
A number of opportunities exist for stainless steel and mild steel fabricators. We are looking for the right persons to complement our manufacturing team.
These roles include the following duties:
- Read and interpret plans and layouts, assemble and weld
- Liaise with Workshop Manager and Design Engineers re. issues, ideas and queries
- Measure, mark out, cut and fold, layout, position, align and fit components together
- Set up equipment and complete final welding of components using a variety of welding equipment
- Present finished product without grind marks, splatter, dents and other such marks that detract from anything but a perfect clean finishIn order to be considered, you will need to:
- Have suitable experience in the above mentioned duties
- Be reliable and hard working
- Have good communication skills
- Be allowed to work legally in New Zealand
